Kelly Beach Cabin Retreat
A couple of years ago, a huge windstorm tore through Rockaway Beach, Oregon. That’s where our Kelly (close relation to the O’Kellys) family beach cabin has sat rotting very slowly away with Crescent Lake just a few feet away. In the years since my grandfather Neil died, only basic maintenance had been done to the place since just about everyone knew the cabin’s days were numbered. The storm made the decision to tear the old cabin down, as several trees fell on it, pushing the house off it’s rotting foundation.
Construction on the new, much improved “cabin,” is wrapping up, and boy it is looking really nice. My unbelievably talented sister Liz (http://www.owarch.com/) designed it, and you can find photos of the work in progress here .
While everyone is getting ready for the grand opening, I thought I’d share some meditative footage I shot there at the lake a couple of summers ago. What a peaceful place.
